First First !

Here I am writing again sitting in Mumbai. I am here again (in Mumbai) to be part of the project workshop for which I was here earlier in 2011. It is 2012 now and most things have changed and many have not. For example the dates now carry 2012 as the year and the high rises have not lost any heights. Again after a gap of months I see buildings around as I peep out of the window.
Mumbai is different, it gives a different sense of freedom all together. And now it is wonderfully special because I have traveled alone to the city from Bangalore in a bus. From afternoon till morning sitting in the bus was sight! (because I generally don't sit simply lie down).
First time in life there was no body to say bye, say take care and drop me to the starting point of the journey. Though they were there (long distance communications), and I also involved few friends in this journey taking process which they would only know once I am at my destination, this time they were part of Bye saying ceremony for me through the phone. I just realised how important is to say BYE/Happy Journey/Take Care/See you soon. I felt quite happy when they messaged me back to ask whether I have reached safe (or ran away with some handsome lad in the bus! (there were none)).

So important is to connect with people you know. To let them know that you remember them in the situations that matter to you the most. And then how beautifully they make a point to give the same feeling back to you by inquiring your whereabouts. Yet the same thing when someone does quite a few times it becomes investigation and then it irritates. Emotions I tell you, very weird.

I am away from home in Bangalore and my Parents are increasing their BP thinking how I will manage. But I did manage and here I am.
Not that nothing else interesting happened in these months which was worth mentioning. I went on a trip to Glacier in Kashmir, I went to Kerala, My another cousin got married and I finished with my theoretical academics.
This today is special, because I finally did it. I used to ask people how they do it. How they when they are alone go out eat alone in a restraunt ? isnt it boring? But when hunger strikes who sees who is with you! I learnt. And then how they managed there luggage alone. What was the degree of watchfulness needed.
Funnily they put up three stupid movies back to back as part of the entertainment package. Watching one of them I laughed out loud automatic reaction it was thank god seat next to me was vacant. When I realized this I hid myself in the blanket they had provided for sometime and started looking outside.

Then reaching Mumbai I saw things are just the same. Same building continuously being constructed. The signboards, the offices, stations, etc etc. So I played spot the difference ! and found the season different last time I was here when there were Rains as part of the project on Floods and now I am here in Winter (so called) to be part of the end of project workshop.

Another big difference was that it took me just 35 minutes (morning) to reach Malad from Sion, it takes 2 hours they say.

I sit at the same place again and write this post , post the previous post.

  1. This blog just shows your innocence and the way you have been brought up. A degree of happiness and pride that you were able to succeed that your parents were anxious about is loud and clear in this blog. I like the seasonal change of your work stated in the article. In the end, I can only say that enjoyyy ur confidence to travel alone!!
